In Sunday’s victory against the Lions, veteran Bertrand Berry suffered an injury, most likely a torn triceps muscle, which may end his season. This is the 3rd straight year Berry has torn muscles; his triceps in 2006 and his pec in 2005. Adrian Wilson, another defensive star left Sunday’s game early with heel/achilles/calf problems as well. he Cards defensive is currently ranked 9th in the league, and they have had their share of injuries over the season, while overcoming what could have marked a potentially horrible year. Calvin Pace stepped up after the injury to Chike Okeafor, and contributed greatly to the victory over Detroit. In Berry’s hopefully-short absence, Joe Tafoya and Darryl Blackstock will be asked to step (up a la Pace) to keep Arizona close to Seattle in the division.
The offensive is sore too: Kurt Warner’s hand injury and Anquan Boldin’s sore hip have limited them both in play.
Ken Whisenhunt is exploring the possibilities of snagging some free agents in the future.
